Smartly increasing resource efficiency, location attractiveness and quality of life

Based on our many years of experience in the fields of energy, resource management, sustainable construction, urban development, mobility and participation, we support municipalities and cities in the development of smart city strategies and concepts. This enables communities and cities to increase quality of life and resource efficiency by means of holistic urban development concepts.

The goals of a Smart City are focused around integral, resource-saving urban development, an increases in quality of life and the attractiveness of the location thanks to use of the latest technologies and approaches. Based on many years of cooperation with municipalities and cities, Intep supports you in the development of a comprehensive Smart City strategy, which creates a conceptual framework for the use of digital transformation for the benefit of sustainability and participation in cities and municipalities. Furthermore, with such a strategy you can achieve your climate and energy goals in a more focused and efficient way. This is thanks to intep’s many years of expertise in the area of climate and energy as well as in the implementation of projects at the interface between climate and smart city. We offer you support in ideally combining the two topics and implementing them in concrete projects, e.g. with smart areas.

From vision to communication

A smart city strategy covers many different areas, such as smart government (e.g. operation of chatbots for standard information from the city administration), smart energy and environment (e.g. use of e-vehicles, smart power grids or energy optimization of buildings) or smart economy (e.g. local value networks to promote the circular economy). In a first step, intep helps you to develop a vision and define the focus of your city or municipality. Then, guidelines for action are defined and strategic goals for your community or city are derived from them. In doing so, the strategy integrates diverse experiences from other cities, ongoing projects from service departments as well as needs regarding city-wide coordination.

Due to the cross-cutting nature of the topic, various stakeholders from business and society are involved in developing the strategy. Workshops with internal and external experts and stakeholders are organized and moderated. If necessary, the population will also be actively involved and the strategy will then be visualized and published in a way that is accessible to the residents, the economy and business.
