IWB Industrielle Werke Basel

IWB Industrielle Werke Basel supplies its customers with 100 % renewable electricity, renewable district heating, drinking water and biogas natural gas. The company offers customized services and solutions for efficient energy use and in the telecom sector. Its clientele includes more than 250,000 residential customers, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as industry and government.


As part of IWB’s sustainability strategy, the company has set itself the goal of working up its greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol. On this basis, ambitious climate targets and reduction paths are to be set for individual “scopes” in line with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). Intep supported IWB in the preparation of the GHG balance and in the definition of a realistic reduction path.
