Assurance Report: Confirmation of the audit of all reporting calculations

In 2020, Swiss Post AG carried around 1.7 billion addressed letters, 191 million parcels, transported 127 million travelers, and managed over 123 billion Swiss francs in customer assets. It is one of the largest employers in Switzerland and takes its social, environmental and economic responsibilities seriously. As part of these efforts, it has set the goal of reducing its CO2 efficiency by at least 20 per cent from 2010 to 2020. To this end, the Swiss Post provides ongoing information on its greenhouse gas emissions.

Intep reviewed Swiss Post’s greenhouse gas balance for the 2020 financial year and assessed it in context. The audit also included an assessment of the “pro clima” program, its corporate goal and an audit of the Lean & Green action plan in accordance with the Lean & Green Europe Audit Protocol.

The auditing of the GHG balance included the comparison of the data collection, processing and input of the data into the software-as-a-service solution used with the specifications from the given standards and guidelines for GHG balancing. The audits also specifically considered the responsibilities, actual calculation and the underlying methodology. It followed DIN EN ISO 14064-1 standards in the preparation of the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) and DIN EN ISO 14064-3 for the verification of GHG balances. An-other part of the audit covered the documentation and presentation of the GHG balance in the annual report, which uses the GRI 305 standard for reporting emissions.
