Zero Carbon Building Cooperation Project

First Steering Committee Meeting

On May 25th 2021, the kick-off meeting of the “China-Swiss Zero Carbon Building” project and the first meeting of the project steering committee were held at the China Academy of Building Research. Actual results of the first project year were presented and the project plan was approved by the steering committee.

 

The meeting was chaired by Hui Gao, National Program Officer of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. René Sigg, Managing Director of intep, Roland Stulz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Dr. Feng Lu-Pagenkopf, Senior Consultant and Jilong Zhu, General Manager of intep’s Beijing office were representing intep. Also participating were Daniel Wyss and Wesley Wotjas, architects at SKAT and partners of intep. Zhe Li, the Chinese Chairman of the Project Steering Committee, Department of Planning, Finance and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Renaud Vuignier, the Swiss Chairman of the Project Steering Committee, Acting Head of International Cooperation Division, Embassy of Switzerland in Beijing , and Wei Xu, Chinese Project Director, Director of Institute of Building Environment and Energy, CABR, Shicong Zhang, Researcher (coordinator), Environmental Energy Institute, CABR, and other project members attended the project kick-off meeting and presented keynote speeches.

 

René Sigg presented the development of Intep over the past 40 years, its main services, projects in Europe and China and its core idea of Zero Emission Buildings. Afterwards, Daniel Wyss, gave a detailed presentation on the specific outcomes and the work plan of the first project year.

 

  • Supporting the China Academy of Building Research in conducting ZEB-Impact study and drafting standards;
  • Accompanying the entire construction process of the Zero Emission Building lighthouse project, including technical guidance in conceptual phase, design phase, and monitoring in the implementation phase;
  • Capacity building, dissemination of Sino-Swiss know-how of building energy efficiency and emission reduction.

 

After outlining the specific tasks, schedule and the implementation setup of ZEB-China, Jilong Zhu further elaborated on the specific technical consulting services provided by the Swiss team to support the implementation of ZEB-China Project in the conception, design and construction phase.

 

In the end of the meeting, the project work plan was approved by the steering committee. Participants mainly exchanged views on the selection of lighthouse projects and expressed that the ZEB-China Project is of great significance to help China achieve the carbon neutrality target, and they were confident about the successful implementation of the lighthouse projects.
