Intep Beijing cooperation on zero-carbon buildings wins first prize in China
For the cooperation on „Research, Industrialization, and Internationalization of Key Technologies for Zero-Carbon Buildings”, Intep Beijing and its partners won the first prize of the prestigious 2023 China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation Achievement Award.
On March 17, the 15th China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation Conference was held in Beijing. The annual event is a platform for summarizing, recognizing, guiding, and promoting the integration of industry, academia, and research. This year’s theme, “New Drivers, New Models, New Industries,” attracted over 1,000 representatives from various sectors in China.
A highlight was the ceremony for the 2023 China Industry-University-Research Collaboration Innovation and Promotion Award, recognizing outstanding contributions and innovative achievements in the cooperation of the three sectors. The award, established by the China Association for Science and Technology with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology, is the highest honor for collaborative innovation in industry, academia, and research.
For the cooperation on “Research, Industrialization, and Internationalization of Key Technologies for Zero-Carbon Buildings,” Intep – Integrated Planning LLC is honored to have jointly won the first prize with partners including the China Academy of Building Research (CABR), North China Electric Power University, Hebei Aorun Shunda Window Co., Ltd., and Xi’an High-tech Industrial Development Zone Real Estate Development Co., Ltd.
Achievements of the collaboration on zero-carbon buildings
The collaboration has achieved a series of results in technology research for zero-carbon buildings, industrial upgrading, and international cooperation, promoting the vigorous development of China’s zero-carbon building industry.
Intep and partners developed standardized methods for calculating carbon emissions throughout the life cycle of buildings and optimized carbon emission control indicators for low-carbon, near-zero-carbon, and zero-carbon buildings. It also proposed methods for optimizing the configuration of multi-energy storage technologies as well as the operation on multiple time scales, providing technical support for the dynamic low-carbon operation of building groups.
The team also established long-term cooperation with over 30 leading companies in the industry – with a combined annual output value of 3 billion yuan – and completed 6 million m2 of buildings and regional demonstrations. With the help of external partners, channels for industry-university-research integration were explored.
Furthermore, the team has relied on Chinese government partners to conduct multilateral cooperation with the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and bilateral science and technology cooperation with countries such as the United States, Canada, Switzerland, and Austria.
Motivation for future collaboration
This prize acknowledges the hard work of the team, recognizes the outstanding capabilities of the parties, and highlights the potential of industry-university-research collaboration. It also demonstrates intep’s strength in international sustainability projects: Leveraging its rich experience in zero-carbon buildings and sustainable development, as well as its international cooperation background, intep has contributed greatly to the successful implementation of cooperation projects.
We sincerely thank our partners, including the China Academy of Building Research, North China Electric Power University, Hebei Aorun Shunda Window Co., Ltd., and Xi’an High-tech Industrial Development Zone Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., for their trust and support in the implementation of various projects. We will continue to work together and keep contributing to China’s zero-carbon building industry.
