Systemic Perspective: Specialist Information on Circular Economy in Construction (German only)

In Faktor issue 55, focused on the theme of circularity, we delve into the “Systemic Perspective of Material Cycles” in the context of circular construction.

The intep authors explain how the principles of circular economy are applied in planning and construction to minimize the ecological footprint of buildings. They discuss the importance of reusing and recycling building materials, as well as the specific approaches in the planning and implementation of circular-ready buildings, referencing the phases outlined by SIA (Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects).

The article emphasizes the necessity of designing processes so that building materials can be easily recovered and reused at the end of their lifecycle. It also addresses the need to resolve conflicts between resource consumption, energy and land use, environmental impacts, and user requirements.
